The SA Ladies Team, which featured Meg Schooling, Rebecca Thomas, Ruby Versveld and Tarryn Schooling of WP, were overall victors at the EU 8 Nations Cup in Ireland in May.

Their rampant run included a 28-5 thumping of hosts Ireland in the semi, and a 13-5 victory over Czech Republic in the final. Amazing results, congrats ladies!

Next up for the ladies is a huge challenge at World Champs in Kazan, Russia, in late July.

WP Take 3 Gold at Currie Cup

WP Senior Teams took home 3 gold medals in this year's Currie Cup Competition held in Durban.

The Ladies A team, Men's B team and Ladies U18A team took home the top prizes in their respective divisions. In addition to this, Meg Schooling was named as Tournament MVP as her leadership and individual play were both outstanding.

Each final had a different set of difficulties for the WP teams t overcome: The U18 Ladies took a commanding 6-2 lead at halftime, but failed to score from there and had t o hold on tight for a 6-5 win. The Men's B team had to beat KZN B, who had beaten WP twice up until that point - a big rally in front of the away crowd saw WP take an early lead and hold on down the stretch, It was a different affair for the Ladies A side, who had annihilated Central Gauteng A just days before - no one would have seen them down by a goal going into the final minute. A goal from Vicky Quarmby ensured penalties, and from there the WP shooters and goalie Rebecca Thomas were just too clinical.

The Men's A side were unlucky not to qualify for the final, in a year of relative parity between teams. The WP U18 Men just couldn't keep up with the sharp shooters from EP.

The SA Men's team played a great game vs Argentina in their opening game of World Champs 2015 in Kazan, Russia.

We started strong and held on for a 10-6 win, securing SA's first ever pool stage victory at World Champs. A fantastic feat!

We have gone on to lose 15-4 to current World Champions Hungary, a solid performance against the best there is. Follow the action on the SA Polo Kazan page
